Borrowing Materials

Books, Books on CD, Playaway Audiobooks, Kits, Compact Disks, and Magazines check out for 3 weeks.

DVDs check out for 1 week.

Checkout limit of 25 items per account. With the exception of DVD's only 5 DVD's per account.

Yes, you can renew an item up to two times per checkout, unless other patrons already have the same title on hold.

When you see an item you wish to place on hold from our catalog, look for the Green Check Mark Place Hold link and click on it. If you are not already logged in, the system will ask for your Library card number and PIN. Then select which location you would like the item sent to. The default will be your home Library location.

Arrived holds (items you placed on hold that are now ready for you) are kept on the holds shelf for one week. If the items are not picked up and checked out during this time frame, the holds expire. If you did not receive a notification when your hold(s) arrived, please check with the Library to make sure we have current contact info for your account--if you normally receive notifications via email, try checking your junk or spam folder first.

You will be notified by phone call. You may check with a library staff member, or call (276) 773-2761, to check your contact status or to change it.

Online materials can be checked out using your library card and PIN number.

When you borrow materials a staff member will print a receipt with due dates for all checked out materials.

The Wythe- Grayson Regional Library and Board of Trustees is happy to announce that effective February 28th, 2021 through February 2023; overdue fines will not accrue on any materials except for WGRL equipment (such as Mobile Hotspots, e-readers or the telescope.)

Overdue fines for are Books, Books on CD, Playaway Audiobooks, Kits, DVD’s, Compact Disks, and Magazines $0.25 per day and up to a maximum of 10.50 per item. (Long-lost and damaged item fees still apply and will vary by item.)

The library accepts cash and all major credit cards. Credit card charges must be more than $2.00.

Interlibrary loans requests may be placed for items not owned by any of the MT-N-Cat libraries, Any borrower in good standing with a valid Wythe Grayson Regional Library card my request interlibrary loan service. Return postage charge of $3.00 per item will be the responsibility of the borrower, payable upon receipt of the requested material.

The lending library will set the duration of the loan period and overdue fees- those costs will be passed along to the patron.
