Wythe-Grayson Regional Library digital offerings just got better with the addition of a new video streaming service – Kanopy.
Kanopy delivers to Wythe and Grayson residents with a library card, a collection of 30,000+ critically acclaimed movies, documentaries, and kids’ favorites. Many of Kanopy’s videos are not available on any other streaming video platform and the experience is easy-to-use and completely advertisement free. Library card holders can access Kanopy through our website (wgrlib.org) and watch on your desktop, and smart TV apps like Roku, Apple TV, and Fire Stick. Kanopy will be available on Libby / Overdrive starting September 1.
Play credits are used to play videos on Kanopy. You will receive 3 play credits per month. Each video will use 1 play credit and you will have 48 – 72 hours for unlimited views of your selection. Kanopy Kids and the Great Courses are the exception to this period.
Kanopy Kids offers a carefully curated collection of children’s programming that supports early literacy, STEM education, and even foreign language learning. Kanopy Kids provides you with 30 days of unlimited plays for any video in the Kanopy Kids section. With The Great Courses on Kanopy you can select one course each month and have 30 days to view the course.
Getting started is easy. You will need to have a Library Card and an account in Libby (Overdrive). Kanopy selections will be found under the ‘Extras’ section in Libby App. Information on Libby/Overdrive is located on our website (wgrlib.org). Need help getting started? Come by or call your home library for information on getting a library card and/or for using Libby to find Kanopy selections.
