The Wythe County Public Library will be holding an open house on Tuesday, July 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Appalachian singer/songwriter Sam Gleaves will perform from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by an hour-long reception hosted by the Friends of the Wythe County Public Library. The Friends of the Wythe County Library is a nonprofit community organization dedicated to supporting the Wythe County Public Library by promoting public involvement in the library and raising money through various activities including monthly book sales.

“I always jump at the chance to come home to Wytheville and I am looking forward to singing at the Wythe County Public Library,” Gleaves stated. “The staff of our library provides important services for our community. I think there is no better place to share music and stories from our region.”
