Don’t like to be told what to read? Perfect! This book club gives you the freedom to read whatever book you’d like. Then meet up with fellow avid readers on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the Wythe County Public Library for some lively book discussions. Other members may have a wonderful book recommendation for you, and you may have one for them in return. Let’s talk!
And as a treat, the library will show a western movie at the end of each meeting.

Read your way through the Dewey Decimal system! This system is used by 140 countries to organize books into 10 disciplines or fields of study. In this club, members read a non-fiction book of their choice from the assigned classification category (listed below). Then we’ll discuss what we’ve read at the meeting (every 4th Thursday of each month at Wythe County Public Library) and celebrate with a movie. Follow Mr. Dewey through the world of knowledge!

Read books that will transport you to the future or to a galaxy far, far away. Discuss authors and adventurers who explore strange new worlds, who seek out new life and new civilizations. Watch films of those who boldly go where no one has gone before.

Each month has a particular theme or author, listed below. Choose any book from that month’s theme/author. At each club meeting (every 1st Wednesday at 10 am at Wythe County Public Library) there will be a discussion and a screening of a science fiction film.

From reading to the red carpet, this is the Read2Red books-to-movie club! Read each month’s assigned novel or theme at home, then come to the club meeting to watch the movie counterpart with fellow bibliophiles and cinephiles. The club meets every first Thursday of each month at 10 am at Wythe County Public Library.

Join us detectives every 2nd Wednesday of each month for Wythe County Public Library’s Mystery Book Club! Before the club meeting, choose and read a novel by that month’s assigned author (listed below). Then at the club meeting, after we’ve discussed the author (and who is the best detective in the group), we’ll watch a mystery film.
