Description Black and white photo of Laura Harrington with gate posts that she designed and made. She saw a picture of elegant entry posts, and decided to duplicate them. This was in the 1930's, money was short and Bethel was remote. She bought two large glass fish bowls from a dime store in Independence, took them home, mixed up her own cement, filled the bowls and inverted them on the gate posts. When the cement was fully set, she broke off the glass and had something special and unusual. As of 2004, they're still in good shape!
